
Idiyappam Nirachathu

Ingredients
- DH Rice Powder (Idiyappam podi) β 2 cups
- DH Ginger Garlic Paste β 1 tbsp
- DH Turmeric Powder β ΒΌ tsp
- DH Coriander Powder β 1 tbsp
- DH Chilli Powder β 1Β½ tsp
- DH Vegetable Masala β 1Β½ tsp
- Carrot β 1 (chopped)
- Green Peas β ΒΌ cup
- Cauliflower β Β½ cup (chopped)
- Chicken pieces (boneless) – ΒΌ cup (optional)
- Onion β 2 (sliced)
- Tomato β 1 (chopped)
- Coriander leaves β 1 sprig
- Oil β 2 tbsp
- Water β as required
- Salt β to taste
Heat oil in a pan. Add finely sliced onions, salt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and vegetable masala. SautΓ© well and add chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves. Add chopped carrot, green peas and cauliflower. Pour a bit of water and cook well. The masala should be semi-dry. You can also add boneless chicken pieces to this masala. Boil water with salt and a few drops of oil. Add this to the rice powder and mix into a smooth dough. Oil a steamer/ idiyappam plate. Squeeze a layer of idiyappam. Spread the masala mix on this. Squeeze another layer of idiyappam to cover this and steam cook till done.
